Jorge Barbosa - Permaculture in Schools

About the talk

Jorge will talk about his collaborations with schools in Berlin, how he supports them in the development of their school gardens, offering design, consulting, implementation and co-creating activities along with the learning spaces, involving the teachers and students. He will also share a design for a school garden which he has included in my portfolio for the diploma.

About Jorge

Jorge Barbosa is a permaculture designer and educator based in Berlin, Germany. Locally, he collaborates with several schools, offering them design support, implementation and consulting regarding their school gardens, environmental education and regenerative activities. He also offers specific workshops for teachers and workshops and courses related to Permaculture and Transition.

Internationally, he collaborate (mainly) with three Permaculture Associations / Academies: PAB (in Britain), AIP (in Italy) and ACAPI (in Spain and Portugal), as well as with the Transition Network. In Italy, Spain and Portugal, he currently offers support to students on the diploma path, as a tutor, and works with fellow permaculture designers and educators on the edutation program's development, international contacts and further issues.
